ATOS Knee
Prof. Dr. med. Strobel is the Medical Director of the ATOS Private Clinic Munich and the head of the Center for Knee Surgery.
Prof. Strobel enjoys his national and international reputation as an outstanding knee surgeon and scientist. After studying at the Wilhelm's University of Münster, Westphalia, he established the department of arthroscopic surgery and sports traumatology at the University Clinic of Münster, as a result of his numerous research stays at home and abroad.
Having gained his postdoctoral qualification in 1992, he entered the Orthopedic Joint Practice of Straubing.
It is under his influence that this grew to the interlocational practice with offices in Berlin, Regensburg and Munich.
Today this sporthopaedicum is one of the largest orthopaedic surgery joint practices in Germany.
Prof. Strobel is a member of numerous professional associations (AGA, ESSKA, ISAKOS,etc.) and a managing editor of the magazine AOTS (Archives of Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery) in the field of arthroscopy and sports medicine.
He wrote numerous textbooks and books on operative techniques of the arthroscopic surgery, which are considered to be standard publications and have been translated in many languages.
Prof. Strobel has repeatedly been included into the Doctor's List "Knee of the Focus magazine and is, thus, one of the unreservedly recommended knee specialists in Germany.
Prof. Strobel is regarded worldwide as one of the leading cruciate ligament surgeons, who operate complex knee injuries involving cruciate ligaments.
The central point of his clinical and scientific activities is the whole spectrum of arthroscopic surgery of the knee joint.
He focuses mainly on the reconstruction of the front and/or back cruciate ligament with the application of the specific operative and fixation techniques.
Special attention is given to such techniques as refixation, meniscus suture or replacement through plastic insertion of the detached part of the meniscus, and also meniscus transplantation, which help to save the meniscus in case of injury.
The differentiated cartilage therapy, conducted by Prof. Strobel, ranges from the stabilization of instable cartilage areas by means of all the inductive methods of substitute cartilage formation up to the various techniques of cartilage transplantation.
In general, only the techniques having firm scientific foundation are being applied.
